This is the welcome address to all new recruits and gives a good idea of what the guild is about.
Introduction
Welcome to the guild.
Shidavéré is a largely Singaporean and Malaysian guild, blended with Aussie, Indian, Korean. Guild chat is primarily english with a little colloquial Singaporean lingo more commonly known as Singlish to us. We conduct around 4 25-men raids a week, usually on Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday and Monday from approximately 1000pm server time till 0200am server time (non day light saving time). The exact combination of dates/times vary depending on whether we are currently pushing progression etc. Our vision is to be an ace end-game guild focusing on PVE raids. Although we do not factor out PVP-ing completely, our members are mostly primarily interested in the PVE endgame.
In all, we're a guild that respects skill and a fun character and if that describes you, we invite you to apply to our guild
On 5 Nov 2009, Shidavéré will be 4 years old! It is the oldest guild on Frostmourne that continues to PvE raid. Guild philosophy is unchanged. In essence, we are a casual family type guild, but we treat raids as serious business. Many members are working adults who knock off from work to raid every night. Shidavéré is a "happy family" and there has been no drama for more than 3 years (actually, we were accused of ninja once upon a time, but the accuser later became a beloved member of the guild LOL).
Guild leadership
The guild is collectively run by a Council comprising of several raiding representatives. Please PST them if you have any questions about the guild.
Weng is the current Guild Master.

Raid timing
Our raid timing is unique and niche for a specific Oceanic time bracket. Our 25-man raids are Mon, Wed, Thurs, Sun. Our raids commence at 10pm Server Time, and end between 2am - 3am Server Time at the latest. Note: time quoted here is non day light saving time.
Raid slots
No member starts as a core raider until ability and gear are good enough. We do not guarantee raid slots. Your selection for raid slots will be determined by the officers, subject to your gear, attendance and performance.
Factors affecting performance are
(i) good awareness;
(ii) initiative to read up before bosses and not ask to be spoonfed tactics;
(iii) constantly reviewing themselves to improve (ie. WWS, World of Log);
(iv) communication on vent; and
(v) ability to adapt to unforeseen shit in a boss fight without needing express instructions.
Although you may begin as a backup raider, persistence and patience in appearing for selection will certainly give u the opportunity over time to become a core raider. Most core raiders in Shidavéré began as a backup.
Preparation for 25man raids - This is still relevant as basic rules in any given raiding circumstances
Do's and Don'ts
Do's
1. Read up the boss on www.elitistjerks.com and www.stratfu.com to understand boss abilities.
2. Watch the video of the boss fight on www.youtube.com or www.warcraftmovies.com. An image is worth a thousand words, and seeing the graphic animation helps you understand the tactics described in bosskillers.com
(Do not expect to be spoon fed with briefing about boss in a raid. Raid leader only in charge of assignments and organization. It is NOT the job of raid leader to explain the boss abilities to you! If you haven't read up on boss abilities, then you should not be in the raid!)
3. Be sufficiently geared for 25man. Do not appear for 25man raids without basic loots, gem slots or enchants. You are supposed to bring your best for each raid. Hence, do not use cheap vendor gems or lowbie enchants.
4. Bring consumables, and USE them!
Don'ts
1. Don't log in late for raids and expect a raid slot or sitout. (You can request, but do not expect to be entitled a raid slot if you are late).
2. Don't AFK (eg. to eat dinner) after a raid invite and expect to be summoned.
3. Don't do "last minute raid preparations" and expect to be summoned. Remember to buy reagents, consumables, ammo etc in due course well before raid starts.
4. Don't AFK during trash but appear at bosses.
6. Don't AFK or DC at bosses.
7. Don't have repeated connection problems of any kind.
8. Don't forget to re-buff raiders who die.
